How to Play Llaser Llamas Card Game
Game Basics
- Players: 2 to 8
- Ages: 7 and up
- About 13 minutes to play
- 92 cards in six suits numbered 1-15 plus the Llamageddon and Ultimate Shield cards
Classic Game Play
Objective:
- Draw and play cards until the Llamageddon card is played
- Delay Llamageddon using Shield cards
- Stop Llamageddon using the Ultimate Shield Card
Setting Up:
Start by removing the Llamageddon and Ultimate Shield cards from the deck.

Shuffle the remaining cards and deal 8 cards to each player.

Place the Llamageddon and Ultimate Shield cards back in the deck, shuffle and create a Draw Pile by stacking them face down in the middle of the table.
Turn the top card over and create a Play Pile next to the Draw Pile. This will be the Starting Card.

Playing the first card and starting the game
The youngest player goes first. As an alternative, the player to the right or left of the dealer could go first. It’s really up to you.
TIP: Draw first then play
The starting player starts by drawing a card from the Draw Pile and then attempts to play a card from their hand that is one of the following:
- One number lower in any color
- The same number in and color
- One number higher in any color
- Any number in the same color

If they are unable to play a card, then they must continue to draw cards from the Draw Pile until they can play a card.
TIP: Play lower, higher, same number or color
Players will take turns drawing then playing cards until the game is over.
Alpaca Attack – Special Cards
Cards 11-14 in each suit are Alpaca Attack cards and have special instructions. When these cards are played, follow the instructions on the card:
- Llazy Llama: Skip – the next player loses their turn and is skipped. Play continues in the same direction
- Llarceny Llama: Trade – the player playing the card, may exchange one card with any player in the game. Do not look at the card until you’ve chosen it. Play continues in the same direction.
- Time Warp: Play Two – play one more card from your hand. Play continues in the same direction.
- Llater Llama: Reverse – play continues in the opposite direction.

Llama Shield Cards
Card number 15 in each suit is a Llama Shield card.A Llama Shield card can be played to stop any Alpaca Attack or to delay Llamageddon.

If an Attack Card is played, then the player with the next turn can play a Llama Shield card from their hand to stop the Attack.
Do not follow the instructions on the Attack Card and simply continue play in the original direction.
TIP: Remember your shield cards can delay Llamageddon
How to Win – Starting Llamageddon
The Llamageddon Card
If you draw this card you must play it immediately, then each remaining player will each have one turn to delay or stop Llamageddon.

Stopping Llamageddon
Llama Shield and Llama Ultimate Shield Cards
Once the Llamageddon card has been played. The remaining players will each have one turn to try to delay or stop Llamageddon by playing a Llama Shield or the Ultimate Shield card.

If a Llama Shield card is played, then the Llamageddon card is placed back in the draw pile and play continues as before.
The only way to stop Llamageddon is to play the Llama Ultimate Shield card.

#LlamaLloser or #AwesomeAlpaca
If the Llama Ultimate Shield card is played, then Llamagedon is averted and the player who played the Llamagedon card is the declared the Llama Lloser.
If the players are not able to play Llama Shield cards or the Llama Ultimate Shield card, then the player who played the Llamagedon card is declared an Awesome Alpaca and the winner. The remaining players are the Llama Llosers.
Alternative Ways to Play
Llamas are great at following the rules which is why we’re offering up some additional ways to play.
The Llast Llama
The objective is to be the first Llama to play all your cards before Llamagedon.
Play as normal except do not draw a card to start your turn. You will only draw a card if you are unable to play a card from your hand and must continue to draw cards until you can play.
When you have only one card remaining in your hand, you must declare, “Llast Llama”.
If you are able to play all your cards, you do not have to draw an additional card. You are declared the winner.
If the Llamagedon card is played before you can play your last card, then you must try to stop Llamagedon with an Llama Shield or Llama Ultimate Shield following the same rules as in Classic Gameplay.
